Oklahoma-Specific Wilderness Rules
No permit required for Oklahoma wilderness. Campfire permits required in Ouachita NF during fire season. The Ouachita National Recreation Trail (225 miles) is the longest trail in Oklahoma and traverses wilderness and forest lands. Black bears present in the Ouachita Mountains — hang food properly. Timber rattlesnakes and cottonmouths are common.
