Oklahoma Hunting & Fishing
Season Calendar 2026

Oklahoma archery deer season runs Oct 1–Jan 15 statewide; any legal bow including compound, recurve, longbow, and crossbow is authorized. Hunters must possess a valid Oklahoma hunting license and deer license. The season limit is three antlered bucks per season in units with 4-point restrictions. Oklahoma deer management has shifted to antler point restrictions in designated units — verify your specific WMD rules. Oklahoma's Cross Timbers region, Ouachita Mountain hardwoods, and Red River agricultural bottom are the most productive trophy areas. The peak rut in Oklahoma occurs from early to mid-November.

Oklahoma firearms deer season runs Nov 14–Dec 9; legal methods include centerfire rifles, shotguns, handguns, and muzzleloaders. Hunters must possess a valid Oklahoma hunting license and deer license. Blaze orange — at least 400 square inches on chest, back, and head — is required during all firearms deer season. Oklahoma's firearms season opens at the onset of peak rut activity in the central and southern portions of the state — bucks are chasing does through cedar thickets, creek bottoms, and post oak flats. The Ouachita National Forest, Cookson Hills WMA, and Washita WMA offer substantial public land firearms deer hunting.

1 gobbler/day 2/season

Oklahoma dove season opens Sep 1 in the North Zone with the Central and South Zones opening on different dates; hunters must possess a valid Oklahoma hunting license and be HIP certified. The daily bag limit is 15 mourning doves with a possession limit of 45. Oklahoma dove hunting centers on the agricultural wheat, milo, and sunflower belt of the central and western plains — some of the highest concentrations of doves in the Central Flyway pass through the state in September. White-winged dove may be legal in some zones — verify current ODWC regulations. A fully feathered wing must remain attached during transport.

No limit; year-round
