Additional Notes: Washington State offers extraordinary Pacific Flyway waterfowl diversity, from the Skagit Valley's vast snow goose and trumpeter swan concentrations to the Columbia Basin's exceptional mallard and Canada goose hunting. The Skagit Wildlife Area near Mount Vernon is world-famous for its spectacular snow goose gathering — over 60,000 birds regularly winter in the Skagit Flats. Willapa Bay and Grays Harbor on the Pacific Coast provide premier brant and sea duck hunting. The Columbia Basin's irrigation project created millions of acres of wetland habitat that now supports one of the Pacific Flyway's most productive waterfowl hunting landscapes.
